As the first designer at Simplify Healthcare, I successfully designed six innovative platforms, enhanced the onboarding experience for over 48 healthcare payer companies, and set up a 'User and Learning Experience' team. The company has achieved a remarkable 3X growth since 2020.
Upon joining Simplify Healthcare, my primary objective was to introduce and champion design within the healthcare platforms. In my initial weeks, I delved into comprehending the intricate platforms already in place at Simplify Healthcare. As the sole designer, I engaged in dialogue with leadership, seeking insights into their design requirements through three fundamental queries:
What role does design play?
Have prior interactions with designers occurred?
Which areas necessitate significant design-driven enhancements?
By actively listening and participating in these conversations, I laid the groundwork for establishing a dedicated design and learning experience team within Simplify Healthcare. Key focal points that emerged from these discussions included:
Modernizing the appearance of existing and forthcoming platforms to surpass outdated user interfaces dating back to 2012.
Implementing user-role-based workflows within products to streamline user interactions enables quick and bulk actions.
Enhancing the brand strategy and identity to present Simplify Healthcare in a more favorable light within the healthcare community.
Simplifying the user onboarding process onto Simplify Healthcare Platforms.
Given my solitary role as a designer, I recognized the need for additional expertise and enlisted the assistance of UI contractors. This collaborative approach was crucial in addressing the required extensive design overhaul. Eventually, I set up a team of five design members, five technical writers, and three e-learning designers to take on this herculean task and bring new platforms to life.
This year marks the fourth year in Simplify healthcare and since then I have launched and seen completion of major projects that have gotten accolades from healthcare industry.

I worked closely with product managers and development teams to design this platform. I was involved in market research until its successful client launch in 2023 (and beyond), contributing to reduced turnaround time for benefit inquiry information communication.
